MayOur first Art of Living session in May 2006 had 10 apprentice/participants in two teams tackling softly textural wall treatments in (primarily) neutral colors.

They braved high scaffolding to complete an elegant ochre “French Chateau” finish in the living room, installed some custom “tile” in the kitchen, created a fresh new crumbling Damask look for the bedroom, embellished the bath with embedded, embossed pattern and got tangled in about 10 rolls of tape to complete a unique horizontal stripe in a dressing area.

June 2Another 10 apprentice/participants in the June 2006 session worked with paint and pattern, smooth and shiny plasters and shimmering metallic treatments.

A dramatic dining room got a lot of attention with an ornate panel design for the ceiling, reverse gilded glass for the table and highlighted bas relief motifs on the walls. An entry room received a yummy “tomato and cheddar” plaster finish while others created a flourish on a wood floor and fashioned a cherry blossom tree with strokes of genious and pigmented wax. Even more design was taken outside with a custom “carpet” and tile patterns for the front porch. Visit Gallery

JuneThese photos are really just a tease as the house is still being completed for touring and final photography in mid-October but you can get a sampling here of the beautiful results of the work of many talented and committed artisans.

Before and after photos illustrate the positive impact of elegantly designed architectural treatments….
